Building a home was a dream of mine for a long time and now it is done.
I can say my goals were accomplished. I created my masterpiece, documented the process, shared the journey, and hopefully inspired others to take a leap of faith. I enjoyed the moments with my family. And, I reflected on all the hard work, opportunities, resources and people that got us to the life we had imagined.
Not only is the home building process over, but so is this season of life. Seven years ago I traded my public relations career for dirty diapers, feedings and housework around the clock. And, it was pure joy!
Nurturing and serving our precious family in our old home was an era I will cherish forever.

Phase 1 and Phase 2 were filled with excitement and awe. This last video is getting to the finish line. Going from bare millwork to the final coat of paint. Phase 3 was a whirlwind of to-dos, stress, relief and pride!
It’s done. A 2,500 square foot cottage farmhouse with walls that hold my family tight. Four acres on the countryside, minutes away from the city I love. I see a job well done.
I will smile at the memories and live for the new ones right in front of me.
And now, I will fill this home with love, grace and all the pretty that I can…for everyday until.
